If the PUMA crazies were really about putting women into powerful positions, they could take a look at Claire McCaskill

How great was this speech?

You don't get any more white bread than Claire McCaskill and her three perfect, blond children, who introduced her. To the extent that the word "sparkling" is ever used to describe a politician, it sure as hell can be used to describe Claire McCaskill last night. McCaskill is the kind of woman who's been an effective Senator, but who gives you the impression that you could go to her house unannounced and she'd have the coffee on and a batch of cookies just about ready to come out of the oven. And you'd sit there all afternoon and chat and tell vaguely off-color, but harmless jokes, and she'd laugh a bell-like laugh that sounds like an ice cream truck in high summer.

Every time she said "...and it's an AMERICAN story", you knew exactly what she was getting at, but the warm smile in her voice evoked soft-focus images of hot dogs and mom and apple pie and flags and parades.

While the PUMAs and the other WATBs who are planning to cut off their noses to spite their faces because Hillary Clinton didn't get the nomination and try to elect one of the worst misogynists ever to run for president, Claire McCaskill is the kind of woman who wouldn't have to break through that glass ceiling. She'd just smile that smile and the men who think women don't have what it takes to be president would hold the door open and take her coat before they even realized what she'd done.
