Treasonous Republicans prepare the nation for the American gulag

44 Republicans and 4 cowardly, reprehensible Democrats voted yesterday to give the increasingly insane George W. Bush the power to hold anyone he wants, for any reason, for as long as he wants, as an enemy combatant. Anyone the Administration decides to toss into Gitmo now has NO recourse. The decision nullifies last year's Supreme Court decision that allowed detainees to challenge their detentions in court.

As wounded as Bush is, Senators still are perfectly willing to give him the powers of a dictator. Are they THAT party-blind that they think an American dictatorship is OK, as long as the dictator is in their own party?
