Good news for Astrological Musings

Via Pam comes this good news, that teens aren't necessarily enlisting in droves into the Armies of Jeebus:

George Barna's research group interviewed more than 4,000 teens about their exposure, through the media and otherwise, to the "supernatural world" -- and the findings should be enough to send shivers down Christian parents' spines. Three nationwide studies conducted by The Barna Group indicate, for example, that three of four teens (73 percent) have "engaged in at least one type of psychic or witchcraft-related activity" beyond that contained in the media; only a minority of teens believes that horoscopes are not accurate and should be avoided; and only 28 percent of churched teens recall receiving any teaching at their church over the last year that affected their views on the supernatural world.

Perhaps because of people like those at Agape Press. The teen years are a time of questioning authority, and frankly, I can't imagine any teen in his or her right mind who would find that the punitive brand of Jeebofascism preached in fundamentalist Christian churches these days speaks to them.

If teens are exploring Wicca, it means they have a sense of their place as just one tiny part of the universe, and that bargaining for goodies in the next life isn't much of a spiritual system.
