Captain Codpiece removes the mask

And that's how it ends; not with a bang but with a whimper. A whimper, a whine, a pouted lip, a stamping foot. A whimper by a spoiled brat who has never been held accountable for anything in his entire life. A whimper by an incompetent boob whose life is a stream of one failure after another. A whimper by a sociopath who used the opportunity of his final press conference to take off the mask and show us exactly what we allowed to lead this country for eight years. The sight of this man calling every day of his presidency "joyous" ought to chill us all to the bone, especially when this man's brother comes back in four or eight years to restore what his family believes is their own private throne to its rightful owners.

Joyous. Fabulous.

That is what George W. Bush feels when he looks around and sees an intractable war in Iraq, a failed effort in Afghanistan, Israelis and Palestinians at war yet again, an American economy on the brink of collapse, taking the world economy with him. The families who lost their sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers and sisters? No problem; he feels joyous. The people who have lost their jobs and their health insurance and can't get medical treatment for their kids? No problem, he's having a fabulous time. He gets to go to his new house in the exclusionary community in Dallas, and leave the mess for the black man to clean up like the janitor mopping up after his eight-year-long Deke House kegger.

It's simultaneously fascinating and horrifying to watch, and makes me wonder if enough idiots in this country would still have voted for him to allow him to steal two elections of they'd seen this. The lowlights, with commentary, can be seen at Break Room Live this morning, or afterwards here.
