So I don't know about you, but when I read this buried in an article about the Secret Service interviewing the Salahis, it got my Spidey-sense all a-tingle:
A former White House press secretary, Dana Perino, predicted a tough time for the White House social office as the holiday parties approached.
Ms. Perino, a press secretary in the Bush administration, said on “Fox News Sunday With Chris Wallace” that once the Salahis were on the White House grounds, the social office might have played a role in processing them through the receiving line.
“What will be a concern for, I think, the social office going forward is they have their busiest season coming up,” Ms. Perino said. “It’s the holiday season. They’ll have a lot of people coming through.”
And that's how they do it: Have someone who's a not-very-bright, fairly non-hot-button member of the Bush administration just casually drop a White House connection to the Salahi matter into the equation, and suddenly we have the makings of a scandal that will resonate in people's minds because it has the word "office" in it, and therefore a meld into the Clinton "travel office" [non-]scandal.
You've got to admire in a way how they do it.
