Corporate Cocksucker of the Day

You have to admit, it takes a cheeky character to give himself a huge raise and an even bigger bonus at a time when the company loses nearly $600,000,000 then to ask his employees to work for free.

You read that right. Willie the Wanker Walsh, head of British Airways, has asked his employees to work for free because the giant airline is having trouble paying its bills. On top of asking the rank and file to work off the clock, he'd also put 2500 people out of work, is looking at laying off 2000 more and is negotiating "to cut bonuses and allowances that its 14,000 cabin crew have accumulated over many years of pay settlements."

Oddly enough, the UNITE union that represents ground and cabin crews wasn't too enthusiastic about Willie Wanker's brilliant idea for the company's economic recovery. A quick look at the figures shows why:

Willie Wanker currently makes £743,000 with his hefty new pay raise. £743,000, according to the latest conversion rates, comes out to $1,218,949.87. He'd bravely be forgoing over $100,000 in salary but his £1.1 million in deferred share bonuses would help take the sting out of his supreme sacrifice. For you Yanks across the pond, that's $1,804,751.46 and wouldn't be subject to the abovementioned supreme sacrifice.

This must place his employees in a terrible quandary. If they don't volunteer to work for free, they must be wondering if they're going to be among the next 2000 on the chopping block. This hare-brained scheme by Walsh automatically makes him the ultimate yet most hypocritical wouldbe Socialist and the world's most notorious corporate cocksucker of the day.
